Our Background & Exceptional Experience

D&R founding partners John Donahue and Matt Rose previously worked together as partners at the local government law firm of Rosenthal, Murphey, Coblentz & Donahue. When their former firm dissolved following the passing of two senior partners, John and Matt decided to establish a small firm to continue serving the legal needs of Illinois municipalities and local governments. In early 2020, D&R officially opened in Rosemont.

The founding partners assembled a core group of four lawyers, each with an outstanding record of providing legal counsel to local governments. Collectively, our lawyers’ experience adds up to more than a century of Illinois local government service. Our attorneys work together as a close-knit, collaborative team, so every client benefits from the full breadth and depth of our combined experience, regardless of which lawyer assumes the lead role in a particular matter.
